2021 NBA Draft mock #10: New Orleans Pelicans: Corey Kispert
Kispert played four seasons at Gonzaga and improved every year. As a senior, he averaged 18.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in 31.8 minutes per game. He shot 52.9 percent from the field and 87.8 percent on his free throws. It was a phenomenal season that saw the Bulldogs lose their first game of the year in the NCAA final.
Kispert is one of the best 3-point shooters in this class. The 6’7 wing connected on 44.0 percent of his 207 attempts this season. He improved every year but still shot 40.8 percent over his 662 career NCAA threes. The 22-year-old will be ready to knock down NBA triples from the moment he is drafted.
The Pelicans need to improve their floor spacing. Zion Williamson is one of the best players in the league at attacking the basket. New Orleans has given him more ball-handling and playmaking responsibilities. They must couple that with adding shooting to open the lane. Corey Kispert is the perfect fit for the Pelicans.
Expect New Orleans to make moves this offseason. They will likely be trying to trade away Steven Adams and Eric Bledsoe as the Pelicans attempt to end their playoff drought in 2022.
