The 2021 NBA Draft is set to take place on July 29. The lottery is in the books, and the order is set. There were plenty of emotions on lottery night. The Detroit Pistons jumped up and grabbed the number one overall pick. Oklahoma City dropped to sixth and missed out on the Rockets selection because it failed to slip out of the top four. The Raptors and Cavaliers jumped into the top four on an ever-important night.

Teams are in full draft prep mode. The combine is in the books and the date to return to the NCAA has passed. The picks and the prospects are locked in. All that is left is deciding who lands where. The 2021 NBA Draft is loaded at the top. As many as five players would be considered for the number one overall spot in most years. There will be plenty of interest and excitement on July 29.

The Dallas Mavericks do not have a selection in the 2021 draft. They traded their first-round pick to the Knicks in the Kristaps Porzingis deal. The Mavs sent their second-rounder to New Orleans in a deadline deal to acquire J.J. Redick. Unless they make a trade, it will be a quiet draft night in Dallas.
