Best free agent point guards for Dallas Mavericks to target: 1. Kyle Lowry
Adding a star-caliber player such as Kyle Lowry is somewhat of a longshot for the Mavs, but the possibility is there. The six-time All-Star is coming off another solid season with the Toronto Raptors, where he put up 17.2 points on 43.6 percent shooting from the field. He also dished out 7.3 assists per game.
There is a lot to like, especially when you start to envision an offense of Luka Doncic, Kyle Lowry, and Kristaps Porzingis. Throw in Lowry’s proven track record and winning pedigree, and it seems like a perfect fit. The 35-year-old led the Raptors to a championship in 2019 and would be a massive addition for Dallas.
A splash like this in free agency would not only go a long way with the fanbase but more importantly, Luka Doncic. The 22-year-old is expected to sign a max extension this offseason, but supporters are already worried about his unrestricted free agency in five years.
Signing Kyle Lowry would show Luka Doncic that the team is doing everything in their power to build a winning team around him. At the end of the day, that is all the 22-year-old superstar wants.
