Richaun Holmes is the best center the Dallas Mavericks can sign
The center market may be the weakest of all. Richaun Holmes and Jarrett Allen are the only two starting-caliber centers on the board. The rest of the class is best suited as role players. There are impactful options, but none of the players are commanding top dollar.
Allen is unlikely to be available. The Cavaliers traded their 2022 first-round pick to acquire him in the massive four-team James Harden deal. The 23-year-old is a restricted free agent, and Cleveland is expecting to match any offer.
That leaves Holmes as the top option the Dallas Mavericks could sign. The 27-year-old has broken out with the Sacramento Kings the last two seasons. He averaged 14.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks in 29.2 minutes per game this year. Holmes shot 63.7 percent from the field, and he finished seventh in the NBA in effective field goal percentage.
Richaun Holmes is likely to sign a significant contract this offseason as the top free-agent center on the market. How much will he get? That is one of the stories to watch.
Expect the Dallas Mavericks to be active and aggressive this offseason. How will they improve their roster around Luka Doncic? Keep it locked to The Smoking Cuban for all the latest.
