Kyle Lowry is the best free-agent point guard Dallas Mavericks can sign

There are several standout free-agent point guards available this offseason. Chris Paul would lead the list, but he has a player option and seems likely to stay in Phoenix after reaching the first NBA Finals of his career. Mike Conley, Goran Dragic, Dennis Schroder, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Lonzo Ball highlight the point guards available this summer, but Kyle Lowry takes the top spot.

The six-time All-Star was the leader of the Raptors 2019 championship team. The 35-year-old averaged 17.2 points, 7.3 assists, 5.4 rebounds, and 1.0 steal in 34.8 minutes per game this season. He hit 39.6 percent of his 331 3-point attempts and continues to excel on both ends of the floor.

Lowry could be on the move this summer. The Raptors shopped him before the trade deadline but decided against moving him. Toronto could be looking to retool around Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet, and the fourth overall pick in this year’s draft.

If the Dallas Mavericks decide to chase free agents, Kyle Lowry and Mike Conley figure to be high on their wish list. Signing either away from their current team will be difficult, though.
