Case for a Dallas Mavericks trade for Pascal Siakam this offseason

Fans are quick to forget that the Raptors won the title in 2019. The team was led by stars Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry, but Siakam was the second-leading scorer in the postseason. He averaged 19.0 points, 7.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.0 steal on 47.0 percent shooting from the field over the 24 playoff games. The Mavericks need a second scorer that can get it done in the biggest contests.

The 27-year-old is under contract for three more years at over $100 million. The Mavs would have him locked in as their second star behind Luka Doncic for Siakam’s entire prime.

Spicy P is a 6’9 forward that can defend both in the paint and on the perimeter. He made second-team All-NBA in 2020 and can stand out on both ends of the floor. The Mavericks would have to get him involved in the pick and roll with Luka, but Siakam can handle the ball and be a secondary creator too.

Pascal Siakam would be a fantastic fit as the Dallas Mavericks’ second star. He is in his prime with a proven playoff track record and the ability to mesh next to Luka Doncic.
