2021 NBA Draft mock #4: Orlando Magic: Jalen Green
The Magic slipped one place to fourth in the simulated lottery. Orlando is starting a total rebuild and should be looking for the best player available. They have Markelle Fultz and Cole Anthony in the backcourt, plus the developing R.J. Hampton, but Green’s talent is too good to pass up.
The 19-year-old was the star of the newly created G League Ignite. He averaged 17.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.5 steals in 32.0 minutes per game. Green shot 46.1 percent from the field and 36.5 percent on his threes over 15 games inside the Walt Disney World bubble.
Jalen Green is a stellar athlete that can handle the ball, score, and make plays. He is impossible to stop in transition and has incredible leaping ability. Scouts are drooling over his skill set before mentioning his ability to space the floor.
The biggest knocks on the 19-year-old are his iso-heavy play style and slight frame. At 6’5, Green should have no issues adding some bulk and being a force in the NBA. It will be interesting to see if his time in the G League helps him make a quicker transition to the NBA. Green has the potential to be a multiple-time All-Star and All-NBA talent. The Orlando Magic are ecstatic to be select him at fourth overall.
