2021 NBA Draft mock #14: Golden State Warriors: Moses Moody
The Warriors are likely to have two lottery picks in the 2021 NBA Draft. In this mock, they selected Davion Mitchell at seventh overall. The Dubs should be looking for the best player available with both picks.
Moody had an outstanding lone season at Arkansas. He averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.0 steal, and 0.7 blocks in 33.8 minutes per game. The 6’6 wing shot just 42.7 percent from the field but did hit 35.8 percent of his threes.
Moody could pop in the Warriors’ offense. He moves well without the ball in his hands and has shown NBA 3-point range. Golden State could get him working off Stephen Curry and Draymond Green to be a threat on both ends of the floor early in his career.
Klay Thompson should return next season as the Warriors look to jump back into title contention. They will have to decide on retaining Kelly Oubre Jr. but could have one of the most feared rosters in the league if healthy.
Moody has the potential to be an above-average defender quickly. The Warriors could choose to play small and make life difficult on the opposition. The 19-year-old should provide some instant impact with the potential of becoming a key role player when he reaches his peak.
