Dallas Mavericks X-factor in playoffs: 2. KP’s health

Kristaps Porzingis’ health has been in question for most of the year, and this is the most important time. Nobody wants to see him sitting on the bench in the playoffs. Last year’s bubble run proved the Mavs need KP on the floor to make a deep run. They had the Clippers on the ropes before the Unicorn missed the final three games of the series with a knee injury.

Porzingis has done well this year while he has been on the floor. He went through a slump earlier in the season but was starting to show glimpses of who he was in New York before his latest injury.

Hopefully, the week off gave him more time to recover, and he has the motivation to come out swinging. The Unicorn’s gravity on the floor is crucial, whether he’s making all of his shots or not, it usually ends up better for Dallas when he is in the game.

Kristaps Porzingis needs to be ready for this playoff series because he is a matchup problem for the LA Clippers. The organization needs to see a healthy Porzingis in the lineup during the playoffs if they want to make a deep run.
