2021 NBA Draft mock #3: Orlando Magic: Evan Mobley

Mobley has all the makings of the next All-Star stretch five in the NBA. His size and speed are unquestionable. The seven-footer can throw down monster dunks and be the lob threat teams crave. Mobley has a developing jumper that could make him a feared weapon. At worst, he is a pick and pop option in the mid-range that can dive to the rim for easy alley-oops.

The 19-year-old averaged 16.4 points, 8.7 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.9 blocks in 33.9 minutes per game during his lone season at USC. Mobley shot 57.8 percent from the field and 69.4 percent on his free throws. The seven-footer attempts just 40 3-pointers in his 33 games. He will need time to develop his range, but Mobley could be an unstoppable offensive force if he can consistently knock down NBA triples.

Mobley’s defense and potential have scouts drooling. The 19-year-old never dealt with trouble in college as he managed to block nearly three shots per game. Mobley has a reported 7’4 wingspan and has shown flashes of being able to defend on the perimeter. He does not have the biggest body, but the former Trojan has an elite combination of skills that could allow him to grow into an All-NBA defender.

The Magic jump up one spot into the top three and are ecstatic to see Evan Mobley still on the board.
