2021 NBA Draft mock #23: New York Knicks (via Dallas Mavericks): Tre Mann
Mann had a breakout second season at Florida. He averaged 16.0 points, 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals in 32.4 minutes per game. Mann drastically improved his shooting efficiency this season, including hitting over 40 percent from 3-point range.
Mann’s ability to knock down jumpers, sink floaters, and make plays will have teams interested. He grew two inches between his freshman and sophomore years at Florida, which could add some hope that he is not done. Mann is now listed at 6’5 and can be an offensive force in the NBA.
The 20-year-old has struggled on the defensive end of the floor. He does not have elite athleticism or quickness. Mann will need to lock in and improve his fundamentals to be even an average NBA defender.
The New York Knicks use the Dallas Mavericks’ selection to grab Tre Mann. The 6’5 guard gives them another capable scorer and shot maker coming off the bench. Mann can learn from Derrick Rose as he continues to expand his game. The massive leap between his two seasons at Florida should have fans believing there could be more to come from the 20-year-old.
