2021 NBA Draft mock #10: Sacramento Kings: Moses Moody

The Kings could be facing another rebuild. Their roster is littered with high draft picks, but they still failed to make the play-in tournament. Sacramento figures to build around De’Aaron Fox and 2020 lottery selection Tyrese Haliburton. They may be looking to move away from Buddy Hield, Marvin Bagley, and Harrison Barnes this offseason. The Kings appear set in the backcourt but need shooters to put around their guard duo.

Moody averaged 16.8 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.0 steal in 33.8 minutes per game in his lone season at Arkansas. He shot just 42.7 percent from the field but did hit 35.8 percent of his 3-point tries. The 18-year-old (turning 19 on May 31) showed catch and shoot ability to go with strong perimeter defense and rebounding.

Moody did not get to the rim much during his lone college season. Sacramento has Fox and Haliburton to break down defenders off the dribble, but they play a ton in transition. Moody would need to work on his inside finishing in those scenarios to excel with the Kings.

Grabbing a 6’6 wing that can space the floor and play above-average defense fits. Sacramento is happy to round out the top ten by grabbing Moses Moody.
