The NBA Draft will be here quickly. The regular season is coming to a close, but fans have the excitement of the play-in tournament and playoffs on the horizon. For teams that did not qualify, they are looking forward to the draft lottery on June 22. There are massive implications for multiple teams.

None bigger than the Houston Rockets, who clinched the worst record in the league, but owe their pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder if it falls outside the top four. The Minnesota Timberwolves have a top three protection on their selection or it heads to the Golden State Warriors. If the Chicago Bulls fail to jump into the top four, the Orlando Magic take their lottery selection.

The lottery will be an important night, but the 2021 NBA Draft on July 29 will be even bigger. Experts are predicting it to be one of the best classes in recent memory, including five players worthy of number one overall selection in most years. It will be a franchise-altering night.

The lottery is not in the books, so the Tankathon simulator determined the selections. There was minimal jockeying, but those movements will be noted during each pick.

The Dallas Mavericks do not currently have a selection in the 2021 NBA Draft. They traded their first-round pick to the New York Knicks in the Kristaps Porzingis deal. Dallas just moved their second-round pick to the New Orleans Pelicans at the deadline to acquire J.J. Redick and Nicolo Melli.

Let us jump right into the mock draft with the first overall pick.
