Dallas Mavericks player that will dictate playoff success: 3. Tim Hardaway Jr.

Hardaway Jr. is scorching hot right now. The 6’5 wing averaged 24.6 points on 54.7 percent shooting from the field and 48.8 percent on his 3-point attempts over the team’s last ten games. Dallas has won eight of ten, and THJ sat out one of the losses to rest amid the hectic schedule.

The Mavericks need a third scorer to take the pressure off Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis. Hardaway Jr. is the man to fill that role. He came off the bench most of the season but appears set to start in the playoffs after producing his hot streak in the opening five.

THJ’s ability to create shots when Doncic is on the bench is massive for the Mavs. Dallas will need him to hit his catch and shoot threes and create some open looks when they are without their superstar.

If Hardaway Jr. scores 20 points, the Mavericks win. They are 13-5 when he reaches that mark this season. Dallas needs that outlet to keep defenses from selling out to stop Luka. Tim Hardaway Jr. must lock in on the defensive end and get buckets for the Dallas Mavericks to go on a deep playoff run.
