Should Tim Hardaway Jr. start for the Dallas Mavericks in the playoffs?

Hardaway Jr. should start in the postseason. The Mavs sit 18th in 3-point percentage on the season. They could use a valuable floor spacer to open things up for Luka Doncic. Defenses are going to sell out to stop the 22-year-old superstar in the playoffs, so having another scorer on the floor is a must.

Josh Richardson has been mired in a slump. Over his last 13 games, he is averaging 10.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and 1.0 steal in 29.2 minutes per game. JRich is shooting 39.7 percent from the field and 26.8 percent on his threes. The Mavs could sacrifice the defense and make that swap in the starting five.

Dallas needs to figure out who is healthy first. If Maxi Kleber is going to be less than 100 percent, he may shift to playing a smaller role in the postseason. Starting Hardaway Jr. is a no-brainer with Kristaps Porzingis on the sidelines because the Mavericks will need all the scoring they can get.
