How Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic can enter the MVP conversation: 1. Keep winning
Luka needs his team to climb the standings if he is going to get back into the MVP race. They have won five straight games, including dominating the Utah Jazz, who have the best record in the NBA, in their last game. The Mavs must keep winning for Doncic to have a shot at the MVP.
Passing the Nuggets in the standings would be a massive feather in the 22-year-old’s cap. Denver is currently three games up on Dallas, and the two teams do not square off again this season. The Mavericks hold the tiebreaker by winning two of three, but closing that gap will be difficult. The Nuggets’ addition of Aaron Gordon makes it even tougher.
If the Dallas Mavericks win 18 of their last 23 games on top of their five-game winning streak, Luka Doncic could be back in the MVP race with an outside chance of grabbing the award.
The 22-year-old has been incredible all season, no matter the MVP results. The Mavs are lucky to have him and will continue to attempt to build a title contender around Luka. Expect plenty of fireworks down the stretch as Dallas tries to avoid the play-in tournament. Do not miss a second of the excitement.
