Worst Dallas Mavericks to wear number 2 since Jason Kidd: Quinn Cook
Quinn Cook came into college as a five-star recruit and ranked 38th overall in the 2011 recruiting class by ESPN. He became a college basketball legend for his work as the veteran leader on the 2014 national champion Duke Blue Devils, and in the years since has finally found his role in the NBA as a nice and reliable reserve guard that has won two championships.
However, he was still trying to find his legs in the league when he signed with the Mavericks on a ten-day contract as a rookie in February of 2017. Despite his status, his time in the G-League as a member of the Canton Charge where he was a two-time G-League All-Star had Mavericks fans hopeful he could come in and make the Mavericks enjoyable to watch during a largely unexciting season.
Unfortunately, Mavs fan’s hopes never came to fruition as Cook spent very little time in Dallas. He appeared in only five games with his highest scoring total coming in at 10 points during a win against the Clippers on March 7, 2017. He left Dallas with overall averages of 5.4 points and 2.4 assists per game over the brief stint.
