Dallas Mavericks trade target to improve their bench: 1. P.J. Tucker

The Rockets traded James Harden to the Nets, but have not fully gone into rebuilding mode yet. Houston acquired Victor Oladipo and want to see if they can win with John Wall and Christian Wood flanking him. P.J. Tucker is the perfect role player, but he wants a new contract. Could the Rockets decide to move the veteran?

Tucker is a strong interior defender that creates a high volume of steals. He is also a career 36.2 percent shooter from downtown and knows how to make winning plays. Tucker can play three through five and has no issues banging with big men in the paint.

The Dallas Mavericks would love to add his defense and toughness to their roster. The rival Rockets are unlikely to trade with Dallas, but the Mavs could make the top offer. Tucker would be a fantastic fit that only improves the team’s versatility.
