Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic finds his jumper against the Miami Heat
Dallas forced a Heat timeout with 9:22 left in the third quarter as they pushed the lead to 22 points. The Mavs were in the driver’s seat. Luka showed off his step back three in the period.
Doncic was two of five from 3-point range as he played all 12 minutes in the third quarter. The 21-year-old superstar had 23 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, and one block heading into the fourth quarter. The Mavericks led by 20 points as they limited the Heat to 53 points in the first 36 minutes.
Luka re-entered with 6:36 left in the fourth as the Heat had cut the Mavs lead to 16 points. Miami did not give up, though. They continued to cut into the Dallas lead, but Doncic was not letting them come all the way back. He scored four and grabbed some key rebounds to finish off the victory.
Doncic finished with 27 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, one block, and five turnovers in 36 minutes of action on Friday night. It was his first double-double of the season. Luka also finished three of ten from 3-point range as he looks to be getting back on track from deep.
The Dallas Mavericks have their first back-to-back of the season starting on Sunday in Chicago. They play the Rockets on Jan. 4 in Houston. It will be a difficult set with the rival Rockets on the second night. Luka Doncic and the Mavs are up to the task, though. Fans will not want to miss it, so stay tuned.
