Dallas Mavericks starting lineup locks

Four players are locked into the Mavs starting five when healthy.

Luka Doncic

After two seasons in the NBA, Doncic has started 133 of 133 career games. He will be the Mavs unquestioned offensive floor general this year. Expect Luka to command one of the best offenses in the league as he makes a run at the MVP award.

Kristaps Porzingis

Porzingis has started 242 of 243 career games. He is a lock to be in the starting five when healthy. Expect the Unicorn to be the best version yet after some time to ramp up because he found his footing with Dallas last season and was playing out of his mind in the bubble.

Josh Richardson

Richardson is locked into the starting five. He will guard the opposition’s top perimeter threat, be a secondary ball-handler, and help space the floor for the Mavericks. His skill set is a perfect complement to Luka’s. Expect a career year from JRich in Dallas.

Tim Hardaway Jr.

THJ started last season coming off the bench but played so well after being inserted into the starting five that he never left. The 28-year-old will be a key floor spacer around Luka that will be asked to take over as the team’s number two scorer until Porzingis returns from injury.
