Will the Dallas Mavericks top the Houston Rockets next season?

The changes in Houston only make it more likely the Mavs take over the Southwest Division in 2021. The Rockets will be a difficult team to beat as long as James Harden is on the roster, but Dallas is improving rapidly. They have a superstar too plus a better cast of role players. Expect the Mavericks to enter the postseason as the higher seed next season.

The Rockets will be a team to watch this offseason. How does Houston decide they want to play under their new head coach and general manager? Does owner Tilman Fertitta agree to pay the luxury tax in 2021 or will the Rockets be forced to shred some salary? There are roster fit questions that could be addressed too. Expect plenty of changes in Houston.

Dallas Mavericks fans should be ecstatic about next season. Luka Doncic will be in the running to win MVP as the team looks to secure homecourt in the playoffs. The Mavs should top the rival Rockets and Spurs on their way to winning the division. That all leads up to their first deep playoff run since winning the title in 2011.
