Player that might have played final game with Dallas Mavericks: 1. Tim Hardaway Jr.

The million-dollar (or $18.975 million) question surrounding the Mavs at this moment is what will Tim Hardaway Jr. do with his player option for next season. The expectation is that he opts in and tests the market when more teams have cap space in 2021. Hardaway Jr. is coming off a career-year and would be one of the best players available this offseason. That has to factor into his decision.

The crux is what THJ wants. He played outstanding basketball in Dallas and blossomed into a team-leader. Does he want to run it back? Is long-term security more important to the 28-year-old? Nearly all of the teams with cap space are rebuilding teams. If Hardaway Jr. wants to play in the playoffs, he should be back in Dallas.

It will be an interesting story to watch. Fans can read plenty more about Hardaway’s decision here.

Expect the Dallas Mavericks to make some moves this offseason. They would love to add a young third star that puts them in title contention for the next decade-plus. The Mavs will settle for a couple of quality role players that give a chance to beat any team next season. It promises to be exciting, so stay tuned.
