2020 NBA Draft mock 5.0: First 31 picks in early October

2020 NBA Draft mock #21: Philadelphia 76ers (via Thunder)- Josh Green
The Sixers capitalized on the Clippers parting ways with Doc Rivers to make him their new head coach. Philadelphia is another roster that is screaming for a trade. They want to build around Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, but the massive contracts handed out to Al Horford and Tobias Harris are not pretty given the team’s fit issues. Philly needs shooters to space the floor for their two stars.
The Sixers want a plus defender that can knock down shots making Josh Green the best available target. The 19-year-old averaged 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 steals in 30.9 minutes per game during his lone season at Arizona.
The 6’6 wing should have no issues guarding one through three and staying in front of his man on the perimeter. The Sixers will be hoping to mold him into a lockdown option during his prime.
Green also connected on 36.1 percent of his 83 3-point attempts this season. That will be an area he attempts to improve during his NBA career. Becoming a 40 percent 3-point shooter and a staunch defender will make Green a starter in the NBA for the next decade-plus. He has that potential, and the Sixers should offer him ample spacing to knock down open looks.
