2020 NBA Draft mock 5.0: First 31 picks in early October

2020 NBA Draft mock #19: Brooklyn Nets (via 76ers)- Theo Maledon
The Nets will be an entirely different team in 2021. Kevin Durant should be ready to play his first game with the team on opening night, and Kyrie will be healthy too. New head coach Steve Nash is inheriting a team with title aspirations. Brooklyn could trade away this selection on draft night or take a player ready to contribute right away.
Theo Maledon is one of the most experienced and versatile players in the 2020 NBA Draft class. The 19-year-old has been playing professionally for five years including earn minutes in the EuroLeague this season. He had a strong showing over those 22 games by averaging 7.4 points and 3.1 assists in 17.7 minutes per.
Maledon should be ready for a role in the NBA immediately. He can play on or off the ball, but profiles best as a secondary creator that uses his quickness to break down a defense. At 6’5 and nearly 200 pounds, the 19-year-old should be able to hold his own defensively as well.
The Nets add Maledon as a capable role player that can create and play off their two superstars. The 19-year-old will have to earn playing time in Brooklyn’s deep backcourt. They could send him to the G-League to continue his development too.
