Dallas Mavericks: 5 players from NBA Finals to target in free agency

Player in NBA Finals the Dallas Mavericks should target in free agency: 4. Meyers Leonard
Leonard has fallen out of the Heat’s rotation in the playoffs. They did not use a backup center against the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals. That will change against the Lakers’ frontline featuring Anthony Davis, Dwight Howard, and JaVale McGee. Does it put Leonard back into the rotation? It is something to watch as the two teams do battle.
Leonard played well this season. The seven-footer averaged 6.1 points and 5.1 rebounds in 20.3 minutes per game while shooting 50.9 percent from the field. He would give the Mavericks a stretch five coming off the bench. Leonard has connected on 43.0 percent of his 3-point attempts over the last three seasons combined.
The Mavericks would have to make a trade to be interested in Meyers Leonard. They have Kristaps Porzingis, Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell, and Boban Marjanovic all hungry for minutes at the five. Willie Cauley-Stein has a player option for next season as well. Dallas will be looking to improve their roster. Trading away a big man or two could open up a space to sign Leonard.
Dallas might be able to ink him to a veteran minimum deal as an end of the bench piece. They would love to have a stretch five available for that price.
