Ranking the Dallas Mavericks best trade chips heading into the offseason

Dallas Mavericks best trade chips: Untradeable Luka Doncic
The 21-year-old superstar would be the obvious number one, but he is not a trade chip. There is no way the Dallas Mavericks move off him this offseason. Luka is the youngest top-five player in the league. Nobody wants to swap for an older player of similar skill, and there is not a package that would even make the Mavs think about dealing Doncic.
The Don will be focused on improving his game this offseason. He was incredible in both the regular season and playoffs in year two. Luka still needs to improve his 3-point and free throw shooting. He will also be working on his defense and decision-making late in close games.
The jumps Doncic has made so far were massive. Another heading into next season could have him the conversation with LeBron James and Giannis Antetokounmpo as the NBA’s best player.
Fans know he sets a new record or becomes the youngest player to accomplish a feat nearly every game. Luka is on the path to being an all-time great, and those are players a franchise never trades away in the middle of their contract.
