Dallas Mavericks: 5 free agents to replace Courtney Lee if he leaves

Free agent replacement for Courtney Lee on Dallas Mavericks: 4. James Ennis
Ennis has a player option for just over $2 million next season. The 30-year-old would have to opt-out to hit the open market. He may be hesitant to do that after finding a starting role on the Orlando Magic down the stretch, but it could be the perfect time for him to cash in with his value at a peak.
Ennis has bounced around the NBA playing for seven teams in six seasons. The 6’6 wing is a quality role player, though. He averaged 6.6 points and 3.6 rebounds in 18.3 minutes per game this season split between the Philadelphia 76ers and Magic.
Ennis could be an underrated 3-and-D wing this offseason that slips through the cracks. He is a career 35.0 percent 3-point shooter that has been streaky. His defensive numbers do not blow observers away, but he showcased his abilities in the playoffs. The Magic used him as the primary option on Khris Middleton. The All-Star guard shot just four of 13 from the field in 20.5 matchup minutes during the five-game series, according to NBA Stats.
The Dallas Mavericks would be wise to sign James Ennis to a minimum contract if he becomes available this offseason.
