Free agent to replace Willie Cauley-Stein for Dallas Mavericks: 1. Aron Baynes

Baynes is coming off an outstanding season with the Suns. The 33-year-old averaged 11.5 points and 5.6 rebounds in 22.2 minutes per game. He shot 48.0 percent from the field and 74.7 percent on his free throws. The new wrinkle was his range. Baynes connected on 35.1 percent of his 168 3-point attempts this season.

The 6’10 big man plays stout defense inside. He would give the Mavericks another strong option to turn to in any game. Baynes played spot minutes at the four this season, but his best role at center.

The developing jump shot makes him an intriguing fit on the Mavericks. Fans know coach Rick Carlisle loves his team to shoot threes. Adding another reliable stretch five could give Dallas one of the deepest rotations in the NBA.
