Free agent that could replace Tim Hardaway Jr. for Dallas Mavericks: 4. Jerami Grant

Grant has a $9.3 million player option with the Nuggets for next season. He could choose to opt-in and rejoin a contending team. Paul Millsap will be an unrestricted free agent this offseason. His departure would open up more minutes for Grant in Denver.

The 26-year-old forward is having an outstanding season. He averaged 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 0.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks in 26.6 minutes per over 71 regular season games. Grant shot 47.8 percent from the field, 38.9 percent on his 3-point tries, and 75.0 percent from the free throw line.

He has also taken on the role of guarding the opposition’s top perimeter threat in the playoffs. Grant checked Donovan Mitchell in the first round. He is now tasked against Kawhi Leonard in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Mavericks would love to add a combo forward that can take on the opposition’s top scorer. That allows Dorian Finney-Smith to guard the number two option. He is better suited for that role. Grant is 6’8 and can check any player on the floor.

Expect the Dallas Mavericks to have plenty of interest in Jerami Grant if he declines his player option this offseason.
