Dallas Mavericks: Biggest questions heading into the offseason

Biggest offseason question for Dallas Mavericks: 5: How do they improve their roster?
The Mavs made a leap this season. They were back in the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Dallas has no plans of stopping there, though. They want to become perennial title contenders. The series against the Clippers proved that the Mavericks are only a couple pieces away from making that a reality.
The difficult part is finding the right fit to make that leap. The Mavericks had the highest offensive rating in NBA history this season but finished 18th on the other end. Improving their defense will be important.
The cap situation in the NBA remains uncertain. Dallas is unlikely to have significant money to spend in free agency. They will have to look for bargain contracts and make trades to improve their roster. Adding the right role players could make a massive difference for the Mavericks.
Dallas will be looking for internal growth from everyone starting with Luka Doncic too. Seeing the best versions of their star duo should have them in the hunt with the ability to keep climbing.
Keep an eye on who the Mavs are targeting, and how much their current players improve this offseason.
