2020 NBA Draft mock #22: Denver Nuggets (via Rockets)- Aleksej Pokusevski

The Nuggets are positioned well to keep winning with Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray locked in long-term. Michael Porter Jr. is an exciting young talent. Gary Harris and Will Barton missed time in Orlando, but are under contract for next season. Denver could go anywhere with this pick.

Aleksej Pokusevski is a talent climbing up draft boards. He does not turn 19 until Dec. 26 making him the youngest player in the 2020 NBA Draft class. He is a seven-footer that can handle the ball, create his own shot, and hit 3-pointers. That goes without mentioning his tremendous potential on both ends of the floor.

Pokusevski is a long-term investment. He played all but two of his minutes this season for Olympiacos’ second team. The 18-year-old is most likely a draft and stash player. The Nuggets struck gold with Jokic. They could take another shot on a talented European big man here.

It is a boost or bust pick. Pokusevski may never play a consistent role in the NBA. He could also become an All-Star big man with a versatile skill set. The Nuggets would have to believe they can develop his raw talent. Some team in the first round will take that chance on draft night.
