Dallas Mavericks Playoff moment: 9. 2011 Western Conference Semifinals Game 4

On the way to winning the 2011 NBA championship, the Mavericks faced the two-time defending champion Lakers. The Mavs won the first three games of the series including two in Los Angeles. They were given a chance to win the series, but nobody expected them to sweep the Lakers.

For the entire series, the Mavericks shot just over 46 percent from 3-point range. Game four was a big reason why because Dallas had an efficiency field goal percentage of over 70 percent. This stat adjusts field goal percentage to take into account that a 3-pointer is worth more. Dallas hit 20 of 32 from long range to finish off the Lakers.

In 2011, the Mavs showed that killer instinct. The bench led Dallas to a 122-86 victory to knock out Kobe Bryant and the Lakers.

Not a single Lakers player scored over 20 points while three Mavericks bench players did. Peja Stojakovic stole the show with 21 points on a perfect six for six from three. Jason Terry led the way with 32 points including hitting nine of 10 from 3-point range. J.J. Barea helped out with 22 points on nine of 14 shooting.

The Mavericks earned rest before the Western Conference Finals. They showed the league that they were not to be messed with on their journey to claim their first title in franchise history.
