Mavericks: Luka Doncic dazzles and more takeaways from win vs. Bucks

Takeaway from Dallas Mavericks win over Bucks: 3. Doe-Doe goes off
Luka Doncic will deservedly get the praise for the victory, but Dorian Finney-Smith had a monster performance too. The 27-year-old had 27 points, 11 rebounds, five assists, and one block in 43 minutes of action. That included making six 3-pointers and shooting ten of 19 from the field. It was massive considering Finney-Smith averages 9.4 points per game on the season.
DFS came up big late in the game too. He hit three clutch triples. One with just under two minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. The other two in overtime to expand the Mavs lead to nine points with 3:05 left. Fans can see all of his best plays from the win over the Bucks here.
Finney-Smith also well in leading the Mavericks defense late in Saturday’s game. The Mavs were down one with 5:20 left in the game. The Bucks brought Giannis back on the court and planned on going to him to close it out. Finney-Smith and the Mavs held him to just two points and the team nine in that stretch. It opened the door for Dallas to tie the game and send it to overtime.
Fans will look at the box score and see the Greek Freak had 34 points, 13 rebounds, and five blocks against the Mavericks. They will assume Doe-Doe got torched. That certainly was not the case when the game was on the line. Finney-Smith was a massive part of the Mavs victory over Milwaukee.
