NBA Mock Draft #8: Chicago Bulls- Killian Hayes

The Bulls slipped one spot after Phoenix jumped up to second overall in the mock lottery. Chicago is building an exciting young core. They have Wendell Carter Jr. and Lauri Markkanen in the frontcourt. Coby White and Zach LaVine are scoring guards in the backcourt. It gives them a lot of avenues to explore in this draft.

Hayes is a point guard and lead ball-handler that Chicago could build around. He turned 19 in July making him one of the youngest players in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Hayes played professionally in Germany this season. He averaged 11.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.5 steals in 24.8 minutes per over 33 games. His jumper is still a work in progress. Hayes shot just 29.4 percent from 3-point range this year, but he connected on 87.6 percent of his free throws.

The 19-year-old is a 6’5 point guard packed with potential. There is a lot to like in his tape. Hayes enters as a backup one but could grow into a starter with some development. It would not be surprising to see him drafted higher. If he is still on the board, the Bulls cannot pass on Killian Hayes.
