2020 NBA Draft mock 3.0: Which player will Dallas Mavericks select?

NBA Mock Draft #5: Atlanta Hawks- Isaac Okoro
The Hawks dropped one spot as the Suns jumped up into the top four. Atlanta has a young lottery pick at every position. Trae Young is locked in at point guard. They traded for Clint Capela to pair with John Collins in the frontcourt. The Hawks recently drafted wings Kevin Huerter, Cam Reddish, and De’Andre Hunter too.
Atlanta has an exciting offense but was 28th in defensive rating this season. Adding Capela should help. The Hawks need a lockdown perimeter defender, though. That is why Okoro makes the most sense. He is the top one in the 2020 NBA Draft class.
The 19-year-old’s defense will allow him to play right away. He can match up against any player one through four and has the potential to grow into one of the NBA’s best defenders.
What Okoro can do on offense will determine his ceiling. He averaged 12.9 points and 2.0 assists per game last season for Auburn. He struggled mightily with his jumper, though. Okoro shot 28.6 percent from 3-point range. He got to the rim and finished well during his lone NCAA season, though.
There is plenty of upside for him to be more than a 3-and-D wing. Okoro could be an All-Star if he reaches his ceiling. The NBA-ready defense coupled with that makes him a top-five selection.
