NBA Mock Draft #4: Golden State Warriors- James Wiseman

The Warriors had the worst record in the NBA this season but tumbled down to fourth in the lottery simulation. They figure to be back in contention next season with Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both healthy. The selection here is just another piece to add to their talented roster.

The Dubs choose Wiseman to make their lineup scarier. At 7’1 and 240 pounds, he has athleticism and length that standout. Wiseman can score, rebound, and protect the rim. Scouts are drooling about his potential as a future defensive anchor.

Wiseman only played three games for Memphis before he was suspended. It makes projecting him a bit tougher than other top prospects. He was viewed as the number one player in the class coming out of high school. The Warriors are ecstatic to add a center with his upside even if it takes a few years to reach that ceiling.

Wiseman will be ready for a role as a rookie. It should only expand as the season goes on. He will need to learn how to defend without fouling and adjust to the stronger opposition in the paint. Wiseman could easily be the top player in this class a decade from now if he reaches his ceiling. That makes him a no-brainer selection at fourth overall.
