2020 NBA Draft mock 3.0: Which player will Dallas Mavericks select?

NBA Mock Draft #31: Dallas Mavericks (via Warriors)- Desmond Bane
Through a series of trades, the Mavs secured the right to swap second-round picks with the Golden State Warriors in the 2020 NBA Draft. Even last season, that seemed like it would not be necessary, but injuries decimated the Dubs this season. They had the worst record in the NBA. Now, the Mavericks will be picking to open the second round.
Dallas is going to want another floor-spacing wing that is a strong defender. They opt for Desmond Bane out of TCU. The 22-year-old was a four-year starter for the Horned Frogs. This season, he averaged 16.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 steals in 36.0 minutes per game.
Bane is a tremendous shooter. He connected on 43.3 percent of his 575 career NCAA 3-point attempts. Bane also hit 49.5 percent from the field. He has a high basketball IQ and is good at picking his spots. The former Horned Frog should be ready to play minutes early on in the NBA.
Bane is a role player, but that is exactly what the Dallas Mavericks need. They take the 22-year-old with the first selection in round two.
