2020 NBA Draft mock 3.0: Which player will Dallas Mavericks select?

NBA Mock Draft #29: Los Angeles Lakers- Devon Dotson
The Lakers are going to be title contenders with LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Fans know that means plenty of veteran role players surrounding the two stars. It will be interesting to see if Los Angeles keeps this pick or trades it on draft night.
Dotson blossomed in his second season at Kansas. He showed off his ball-handling, playmaking, and scoring ability. The 20-year-old averaged 18.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 2.1 steals in 34.9 minutes per game. He shot 46.8 percent from the field and 83.0 percent on his free throws.
There are some questions about Dotson’s jumper. He shot 36.3 percent as a freshman from 3-point range. That number dropped to 30.9 percent this season. Dotson was taking tougher more contested attempts. The foul shooting suggests that the 20-year-old should have no problems being a league average or better 3-point shooter in the NBA.
Dotson is ready to fill a role from day one. He will slot in as the backup or third-string point guard. There are defensive questions, but his activity should make him passable on that end of the floor. Dotson gives the Lakers another option off the bench. The 20-year-old could blossom into a starter if he improves his shooting and defense.
