2020 NBA Draft mock 3.0: Which player will Dallas Mavericks select?

NBA Mock Draft #21: Denver Nuggets (via Rockets)- Jaden McDaniels
The Nuggets have one of the best young cores in the NBA. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are locked in long-term. They have Gary Harris and Will Barton on the wing. Michael Porter Jr. gives them an interesting prospect at the four. Denver will be looking to add another piece that pushes them closer to title contention.
McDaniels was viewed as a guaranteed lottery pick entering the season. His stock dropped because he lacked consistency during his lone season at Washington.
McDaniels oozes talent. He averaged 13.0 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.8 steals, and 1.4 blocks in 31.1 minutes per game this season. The 19-year-old showed flashes of his shooting, scoring, playmaking, and defensive abilities. They were only brief glimpses, though.
NBA teams will be interested. McDaniels is 6’9 and 200 pounds with defensive versatility, quickness, and an intriguing offensive skill set. He will need to control his fouls and turnovers to make an impact in the NBA.
McDaniels needs time to develop. Expect him to play a small role as a rookie, but the potential is there for the 19-year-old to be an every night starter in his prime.
The Nuggets take a shot on another high upside prospect. It appears to be working with Porter Jr. and Bol Bol. Jaden McDaniels could be the next player in their list of success stories.
