2020 NBA Draft mock 3.0: Which player will Dallas Mavericks select?

NBA Mock Draft #1: Cleveland Cavaliers- Anthony Edwards
The Cavaliers jumped up to grab the number one overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. Cleveland had the second-worst record this season. Winning the lottery gives the Cavs all the options. There does not appear to be that surefire top selection, though.
The Cavaliers take Anthony Edwards. The 6’5 wing gives them an elite athlete and scorer. Edwards can create his own shot and gives the Cavs a young trio to build around with recent lottery picks Darius Garland and Collin Sexton.
Cleveland may be tempted to draft James Wiseman or Onyeka Okongu here. They have two young guards, but Sexton is probably best suited as a sixth man. Grabbing a player like Edwards that can score at all three levels and handle the ball is difficult to pass up.
Edwards averaged 19.1 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.3 steals in 33.0 minutes per game during his lone season at Georgia. He shot 40.2 percent from the field and 29.4 percent on his 3-point tries. Those numbers may not tell the entire story of Edwards’ game as the Bulldogs lacked floor spacing around him.
Expect the 19-year-old to make an immediate impact regardless of what team he lands on. His ceiling as an All-Star makes him too good for the Cavaliers to pass up.
