NBA Mock Draft #18: Dallas Mavericks- Josh Green

It is no secret the Mavs want to put shooters around their two stars. Luka Doncic has become one of the best pick and roll ball handlers in the NBA. Putting four floor spacers around him makes the 21-year-old impossible to stop.

Green has all the makings of a 3-and-D wing at the next level. He averaged 12.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.5 steals in 30.4 minutes per game. Green connected on 36.1 percent of his 83 3-point tries this season.

The 19-year-old stands 6’6 with a plus wingspan. His quickness and athleticism should allow Green to become an above defender in the NBA quickly. That will be his calling card to earn playing time as a rookie.

Green will need to improve his shooting to reach his full potential. He connected on just 1.0 3-pointer per game this season. Some experts have questions about his jumper, but the results speak for themselves.

Green has a high floor. He should be a rotation player in the NBA for the next decade-plus. There is a scenario where he blossoms into a starter and main contributor too. The Dallas Mavericks grab Josh Green at pick 18 to improve their defense and floor spacing.
