2020 NBA Draft mock 3.0: Which player will Dallas Mavericks select?

NBA Mock Draft #17: Boston Celtics (via Grizzlies)- Tyrese Maxey
Someone in the 2020 NBA Draft will drop. It could be multiple players. There is a plethora of guard talent available, but some of the top teams are locked in at those two positions. That means usually slides. In this mock, it is Tyrese Maxey.
The 6’3 combo guard could be a top ten pick on draft night. The 19-year-old is a score-first player that is packed with potential. He was ranked inside the top ten coming out of high school.
Maxey averaged 14.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 0.9 blocks in 34.5 minutes per game during his lone season at Kentucky. He shot just 42.7 percent from the field and 29.2 percent on his 3-point tries. Maxey will need to improve his jumper to unlock his full potential.
It would not be the first time a former Wildcat blossomed into a star in the NBA. Teams will be hoping there is additional playmaking ability from Maxey. He has plus length and athletic ability to more than hold his own on the defensive end too.
The Celtics cannot pass on Tyrese Maxey’s upside. The 19-year-old profiles as a scorer off the bench immediately as he continues to expand his overall game.
