NBA Mock Draft #12: Sacramento Kings- Precious Achiuwa

The Kings have thrown a few curveballs on recent draft nights. Look no further than them selecting Marvin Bagley III over Dallas Mavericks superstar Luka Doncic in 2018. Sacramento has shot for upside in recent years.

They continue that trend by drafting Achiuwa here. The 6’9 forward is an impressive athlete. He has a 7’2 wingspan and the ability to defend any player on the court. Teams will be excited about his potential.

Achiuwa averaged 15.8 points, 10.8 rebounds, 1.1 steals, and 1.9 blocks in 30.4 minutes per game in his lone NCAA season. He shot 49.3 percent from the field, but just 59.9 percent on his free throws.

His offensive game is a work in progress. He hit just 32.5 percent of his 40 3-point attempts this season. Achiuwa averaged just 1.0 assist per game too. The 20-year-old fails to see open teammates because he is too concerned about attacking. There is a ton of room for growth on this end of the floor.

The Kings take Achiuwa based on his upside and versatility. He could play three through five in Sacramento. Expect his defense to earn him minutes early on. Unlocking his offensive game will determine what role Precious Achiuwa plays during his prime.
