NBA Mock Draft #10: Washington Wizards- Devin Vassell

The Wizards also fell one spot after the Suns jumped up into the top-four. Washington still has Bradley Beal. John Wall should be back healthy next season. They plan on going with the best player available as they continue to stockpile pieces.

Every NBA team will be clamoring to select Vassell. The 6’6 wing was outstanding in his second season at Florida State. He averaged 12.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.4 steals, and 1.0 block in 28.8 minutes per game. Vassell shot 49.0 percent from the field and 41.5 percent on his threes.

The 19-year-old has the look of an elite shooter. He connected on 41.7 percent of his 168 3-point attempts during his two seasons at Florida State. Vassell is not just a catch and shoot player. He can make it happen off the dribble too.

The former Seminoles guard should be a plus defender quickly in the NBA. His length and athleticism will immediately translate.

NBA teams are going to be swooning over Vassell’s potential as a 3-and-D wing. The 19-year-old may lack the upside of some of the players selected ahead of him, but he should be a starter in the league for years to come. The Wizards need shooting and defense making Devin Vassell the perfect fit.
