5. Justin Holiday spaces the floor for the Dallas Mavericks

Holiday is having the best shooting season of his career in Indiana. The veteran wing hit 42.4 percent of his 288 3-point tries. Holiday has always been a strong shooter (36.2 percent for his career), but he has taken it to another level this season.

Holiday is taking more catch and shoot threes and getting open more. Holiday has hit 40.8 percent on catch and shoot treys this season. The 31-year-old connected on 44.3 percent of his attempts considered wide open by NBA Stats. He has sunk over 40 percent on wide open threes for five straight seasons.

The Mavericks rank third in the NBA at creating these shots. They take 19.4 attempts per game which sits behind only the Rockets and Bucks. That number is higher in games where Luka Doncic plays. His ability to attack the rim creates open shots.

Justin Holiday would be a perfect fit for spacing the floor in Dallas. He shoots close to 40 percent from 3-point range because teams would be forced into bad decisions. Do they help off Holiday to stop Luka’s drives or give the 21-year-old superstar an easy score at the rim? The partnership would be a plus for both Holiday and the Mavericks.
