Dallas Mavericks: 5 free agency options to scout at NBA Disney

The Dallas Mavericks are preparing for the season’s restart in Orlando. It will be a massive opportunity for them. The Mavs have a playoff spot all but secured. They will be looking to make a run under the unique and difficult circumstances.

The Mavericks are embracing the challenge. Each member appears happy to be back on the court in the early days of workouts. They know that plenty of roadblocks still stand in their way, but the young Mavs want to prove they are an elite team in Orlando.

The unique environment will provide front office personnel with an opportunity to watch their team plus scout the rest of the NBA’s talent. 22 teams are taking part. Dallas Mavericks could scout soon-to-be available free agents too

The league is facing an uncertain cap situation this offseason. They lost revenue with the suspension, and playing without fans further reduces their potential earnings. The salary cap comes directly from splitting that dollar amount. It will be interesting to see where the NBA sets the cap for the 2020-2021 campaign.

Tim Hardaway Jr. has $18.975 million player option for next season. His decision will determine what the Mavericks have to spend on free agents. Dallas wants to continue adding pieces, so they can make the leap into yearly title contention. If THJ opts out, the Mavericks would have the cap space to add a significant piece in free agency after NBA Disney.
