Trade options for Dallas Mavericks to scout at NBA Disney: 5. Rudy Gobert

Every NBA team will be watching the Utah Jazz closely in Orlando. They sit fourth in the Western Conference, but just 2.5 games ahead of the seventh-seeded Mavericks. Jazz starting forward Bojan Bogdanovic had season-ending wrist surgery in May taking him out of the equation.

There was also The Athletic report back in April that relationship between stars Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert may be strained beyond repair (subscription required). Teams will be monitoring how they are playing and what the chemistry is between the two All-Stars.

If the Jazz flame out in the first round of the playoffs, do they look to shake up their roster this offseason? Making Gobert available would be the obvious choice. He is older and closer to reaching free agency.

Trading for Gobert nets the Mavericks one of the best defensive anchors in the NBA. He is also capable of averaging 15 points per game and rebounding at an elite rate. Gobert will never be a stretch five, but he is the best traditional center in basketball right now. Every team is interested in acquiring his talent.

Fans can read more about the possibility of the Mavs trading for Gobert here.
