2020 NBA Draft prospect set for best career: 2. LaMelo Ball

Ball is the best playmaker and passer in this draft class. That is his elite skill no questions asked. Fans saw him competing against NBA talent last summer at Rico Hines. He can certainly handle the ball and create against top talent. Ball is a 6’7 point guard. His size and length will be pluses in the NBA.

There are still questions. He hit just 27.9 percent from 3-point range this season despite taking 6.6 attempts per game. Ball also struggled from the field and did not put down the best defensive tape playing professionally in Australia.

The size will help on the defensive end and scouts are not ready to write off his shooting ability. If he adds those aspects to his game, Ball could quickly become the top player in this class.

LaMelo Ball does not turn 19 until Aug. 22. He is one of the youngest players in the class, but already has the playmaking ability to earn minutes in the NBA. Expect Ball to continue to improve and build on his elite skill. It would not be surprising to see him have the best career of any player in the 2020 NBA Draft when it is all said and done.
