Dallas Mavericks overall: Michael Kidd-Gilchrist

Small sample size caveats apply to any numbers Kidd-Gilchrist produced with the Mavs, but he showed some flashes. They acquired him for his ability to defend multiple positions. MKG proved capable of doing that while he was still working himself into shape.

Overall grade for the 2019-2020 season: C-

Kidd-Gilchrist earned a C-minus grade for his time with the Mavericks. No players could jump more during NBA Orlando, though. Earning minutes and performing well could make it vault up quickly.

MKG will be one of the most interesting players to monitor during training camp 2.0. Will he continue to be an end of the bench option for Dallas? Or does coach Carlisle make him part of the nightly rotation? Kidd-Gilchrist will be on even footing with his teammates. That could mean an expanded role for the 26-year-old forward.

Keep an eye on his minutes and production during the eight seeding games in Orlando. The Mavericks will want to give run if they plan on using him in the playoffs. Kidd-Gilchrist’s defense could help Dallas win a series in the postseason. Stay tuned to see what transpires during NBA Orlando.

MKG will be a free agent after the season concludes. The Mavericks could be interested in re-signing the veteran. He has a chance to increase his value significantly during the restart. It will be something else to ponder while enjoying the season’s conclusion.
