Player Dallas Mavericks could sign: 2. Gerald Green
Green was traded by the Rockets just before the deadline only to be waived by the Nuggets on Feb. 7. The 34-year-old had foot surgery in October and was expected to miss the entire season. The suspension changed that. Green has been posting videos of him working out on Instagram. He looks healthy and ready to go.
The veteran wing has played in the playoffs each of the last four seasons. He is a 20-minute per game role player capable of stretching the floor and playing adequate defense. Green has hit 36.1 percent of his career 3-pointers.
If he is healthy, expect Green to sign with a team for NBA Disney. The veteran would be a valuable addition to the Mavericks. He has playoff experience coupled with shooting ability. Dallas needs a guy capable of defending two through four and knocking down open shots. Green fits that role well.
Gerald Green would only play spot minutes off the bench in the postseason, but he could come up clutch. The 34-year-old has been known to get hot and change a game.
Stay tuned to see if he is healthy and what team lands the veteran for the conclusion of the 2019-2020 season.
